TSEV + STRZAŁ W KOLANO
Sie sprechen anders, sie stimmen ihre Instrumente anders, was sie gemeinsam haben, ist das, was in ihrer Musik nicht ist. Beide erforschen den weiten Raum zwischen den gleichstufig temperierten Stimmsystemen. Strzał w Kolano innerhalb der Vierteltöne präparierter klassischer Gitarre, während Tsev zwischen eigenen mikrotonalen Systemen auf seinem minilogue xd Synthesizer wechselt. Die gemeinsame Abweichung von der Strenge ist ein eher loses Band, das sich aber als unverwechselbar herausstellte und ihre gemeinsame musikalische Methodik bewaffnete. Die beiden trafen sich im Oktober 2024, um zu komponieren, aufzuführen und aufzunehmen, was 2025 als ihr Debütalbum erscheinen wird.
Strzał w Kolano (übersetzt „Schuss ins Knie“) ist ein Soloprojekt des polnischen Musikers Jakub Majchrzak, der früher Mitglied der Bands Kurws, Przepych, Pustostany und Norymberga war. Nach 500 Konzerten auf der ganzen Welt und 8 veröffentlichten Studioalben beschloss er, sich als Solokünstler zu versuchen. Obwohl das pränatale Stadium von Strzał w Kolano das Debüt im Jahr 2017 markiert, wachte er nach Jahren aus dem Koma auf, um einige Shows zu spielen und Ende 2024 die Debütkassette über Pointless Geometry zu veröffentlichen.
Tsev wiederum ist ein Komponist/Multi-Instrumentalist, der in verschiedene musikalische Projekte der Athener DIY-Szene involviert ist, aber auch selbst Musik veröffentlicht und aufführt. Seit 2019 ist er ein bewusster Hörer, Forscher und Interpret von La Monte Youngs Stück „The Well-Tuned Piano“ (das Stück „Tone Cloud“, das im Rahmen des niederländischen Pandemie-Projekts „No View, The Radio“ von West Den Haag veröffentlicht wurde, ist ihm gewidmet).

ZDRÓJ
Zdrój ist ein polnisch-niederländisches Improvisationsduo aus Wrocław, das tief in der sich ständig weiterentwickelnden Musikszene um CRK Salka (Heimat von Bands wie Kurws, Ukryte Zalety Systemu, Przepych, Atol Atol Atol und Barłóg) verwurzelt ist.
Nach ihrem selbstbetitelten Debüt im Jahr 2022 meldeten sich Zdrój im Frühjahr 2024 mit Koleiny (CD auf Fonoradar Records, MC auf Syf Records) zurück. Während ihr erstes Album im Studio entstand, besteht Koleiny ausschließlich aus rohen Live-Improvisationen, die bei Auftritten im Jahr 2022 aufgenommen wurden. Auf dem Album tauchen sie in instrumentalen Post-Punk ein, der mit Krautrock, Noise und einem Hauch von EBM durchsetzt ist.
Bei einem Auftritt von Zdrój weiß man nie genau, was einen erwartet – aber die Chancen stehen gut, dass es kurz, laut und unerwartet tanzbar wird. Ihre Sets entfalten sich in Echtzeit, roh und impulsiv, angetrieben von einer Spielen-vor-Denken-Mentalität. Für Zdrój ist freie Improvisation nicht nur eine musikalische Herangehensweise, sondern eine Art, ohne zu zögern zu kreieren.
